World Food Day

World Food Day is an annual event declared by the Food and Agriculture Organization, founded in 1945 (FAO) to raise awareness and understanding the approached to end world hunger. World Food Day is celebrated on the 16 of October by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations by more than a hundred and fifty member countries worldwide.
In Belize World Food Day is celebrated on a Friday depending on the day the 16th of October falls. This is to be able to accommodate participants from all over the country.
The Program of activities features displays of ethnic food dishes from Belize, locally processed foods and meats, cultural presentations, commercial and agricultural displays and other activities promoting food and nutrition security.
This Year World Food Day will be celebrated on the 20th of October 2017, at the Belize High School of Agriculture, in San Lazaro, Orange District. The Theme for this year is “Change the Future of Migration. Invest in Food Security and Rural Development.”
